Would you like long-lasting, flawless gel nails with UV gel that look fresh from the salon? BNC Profi-Gel is a versatile 1-phase gel that lets you complete every step of the enhancement with just one product – ideal for use in the nail salon and at home.
What makes BNC Profi-Gel so special?
- Versatility: as a 1-phase gel it is suitable for every step – base, building and sealing.
- Pleasant consistency: the medium-viscosity gel is self-levelling and flows smoothly. As a no-file gel, it keeps filing to a minimum.
- Good adhesion: according to the product description, it offers excellent adhesion and therefore a reliable base for any nail enhancement.
- Clear coverage and a beautiful shine: for a natural look or as a base for colour and nail art.
- Fast curing: 120 seconds in a UV or UV/LED lamp.
- For all skill levels: suitable for beginners, advanced users and professionals.
1-phase gel or 3-phase system?
With a 3-phase system you use a separate gel for bonding, building and sealing. A 1-phase gel like Profi-Gel combines all three functions. This has pros and cons:
You'll find more gels in the 1-phase gels and builder gels categories.
What you need
- BNC Profi-Gel
- A soft buffer for roughening, e.g. the BNC white buffer 100/100
- A dehydrator such as BNC Nail-Prep
- A cleaner, e.g. BNC Cleaner Clear, and lint-free wipes
- A gel brush, e.g. the BNC oval gel/acrylic brush size 6
- A curing lamp, e.g. the BNC UV/LED lamp 26 watts
Instructions: gel nails with BNC Profi-Gel in four steps
1. Preparation
- Gently push back the cuticle and remove loose skin.
- File the nails into shape and lightly buff the surface – just remove the shine, don't file the nail thin.
- Remove filing dust thoroughly and dehydrate the nail plate with Nail-Prep. After that, don't touch the nail with your fingers.
- For difficult, very oily nails, a bonding agent such as BNC Primer Ultra Bond can help.
You'll find detailed preparation tips in The perfect base for gel nails.
2. Base layer
- Apply a thin layer of Profi-Gel and work it well into the nail plate, leaving about one millimetre of space to the cuticle.
- Cure for 120 seconds in a UV or UV/LED lamp. Leave the sticky layer on.
3. Building
- Apply another layer of Profi-Gel, spread it evenly and place the highest point (apex) in the stress area.
- Wait a moment for the gel to self-level, then cure again for 120 seconds.
- Remove the sticky layer with cleaner and a wipe, refine the shape and surface with a file if needed and remove the dust.
4. Sealing
- Apply a final thin layer of Profi-Gel, also capping the free edge, and cure for 120 seconds.
- Remove the sticky layer with cleaner. Finally, apply nail oil to the cuticles.
Prefer a separate sealing gel without a sticky layer? Then the BNC High-Gloss Finish Gel without sticky layer is an option – no cleansing needed at the end.
💡 Pro tip for salons
For infills and natural nail overlays, a 1-phase gel saves a lot of time because you don't switch between several pots. Work in thin layers and cure twice rather than once too thickly – that way the gel cures completely. For extensions with forms, many professionals also use a high-viscosity builder gel such as BNC Professional Builder Gel clear, which according to its description is ideal for the form technique.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
- Gel flows onto the cuticle: too much product at once or too little distance. Work with small amounts and remove any flooded gel before curing.
- Lifting after a few days: usually oil or dust on the natural nail. Dehydrate thoroughly and don't touch the nail afterwards.
- Sticky or soft surface: layer too thick or the lamp doesn't match. Work thinner and observe the curing time.
